Lets Add Some Pink To the Mix

Last week I had my ultrasound to find out what we are having. I think I went in fully expecting a boy because that's what they've been the past two times. Turns out it's a girl! I guess I won't be surrounded by boys forever. Everyone kept asking us if we were so excited to be having a girl finally. I kind of felt bad because Jake and I weren't all jumping in the air excited. We weren't disappointed either. We knew we were having a baby and didn't have much preference as to gender. We were just happy to know. We are happy to be able to finally use our girl name which we've had since before Tade was born. Anyway, several days passed with people asking if we were excited and I just don't think I reacted the way they were expecting. Sorry to everyone for the let down, but the other night that all changed. As I was laying in bed thinking about having a girl something clicked that gave me the biggest smile. When I was on my mission in Madagascar I was able to collect many items made by members and investigators. Things from napkins and table clothes to blankets. What got me so excited though was my memory of dresses I brought back. We had two investigators, Solo and Misa, who I just loved. They both made little white baby girl dresses with colored embroidery. I loved them and have had them in a box for 10 years now just waiting. I had brought them back with the intent of using one of them as a blessing dress if I ever had a girl. With my first two being boys I had completely forgotten about the dresses until the other night. Then my excitement kicked in. I finally get to use one of these precious and memory filled dresses. So everyone I am now excited!

Happy New Year

Each New Year's Eve we head over to our friends the Ellsworths for a party. It is wonderful getting together with good friends for fun and food. With me being pregnant I didn't think I would make it to welcome in the new year, but to everyone's surprise I was still there at midnight. Unfortunately as soon as I got home my stomach let me know I had pushed it too far. Aside from the after affect we had a great night of games and eating. Adam and Maricel had chosen an 80s theme this year. Since I don't fit into many clothes right now I couldn't dress up, but Shauna, Ligia, and Matt got into it. Ligia won best dressed. She said it was so easy to find 80s clothes in the stores especially the leg warmers. How sad it that. There are certain periods of clothing that should no be resurrected.

Cousins, 2nd Cousins, and 1st Cousins Once Removed

Family relations can be so confusing. I see my extended family on both sides pretty often and I still have trouble remembering what the official relation titles are when it comes to cousins. Pretty much anyone who is a cousin of some sort I just refer to as cousin. Anyway, each Christmas we do a delayed Christmas with my aunts family. Tade loved it because he had great cousins, both removed and second, in town to play with for a couple days.

My cousin has been wanting a kitchen aid forever. Her brother surprised her by getting her one this year. She wouldn't put the thing down after she opened it.

Seth went a little overboard with clean up. He ended up cleaning himself up.

Some of the crew headed to the Dulles Air and Space Museum to check out the planes.

Looks like they are trying to learn something.
