Jake's younger sister and her husband Tom came to visit. She is a 5th grade teacher so visiting back east was perfect because we pretty much have her 5th grade curriculum at arms length. The day after they got here we headed to Williamsburg. Amber has visited before, but has never done Williamsburg. Tom has just never visited so it was all new and exciting for him.
We checked into out place and I put Andelyne down for a much needed nap. It was still light out and the main part of Colonial Williamsburg doesn't take too long so I sent everyone else out to explore.
Locking up his prisoner
The unit we stayed in had a hot tub as usual when we venture to Williamsburg. I think this is always the boys favorite part. They LOVE being in the bath tub and this is just like a gigantic tub with jets.
The next day we went to see Jamestown. We've seen this a lot, but it is one of the better and more interesting place to visit down there. With Amber and Tom being with us we thought they for sure need to see Jamestown. It was fun because the has several reenactors. When we usually go it's too late in the season for all that stuff.
When you first enter the outdoor stuff at Jamestown you walk through a Powhatan village.
The boys we able to crush corn.
They learned about making rope for nets, fishing and building. Tade then walked around with pieces of grass trying to make rope.
Seth learned about making weapons. He loved this and walked around the rest of the time with rocks that he was trying to sharpen into a knife. Maybe we should have skipped that spot.
When we got the the ships the boys had a blast. They were quite crowded, but that didn't stop Tade and Seth from exploring. Here they are trying to steer the ship.
Carving out the canoe. We left this spot with very dirty soot covered boys.
This has to be the most uncomfortable armor ever and it weighs a ton.
Jake calls this the Forest Gump shot. I just thought Seth looked adorable.
After Jamestown we headed down the road a bit to the glass blowing place. Seth and I were the only ones who had bee here before so he led the way through the woods the the building.
We had a short, but wonderful trip to Williamsburg. I'm so glad Tom and Amber were able to see such a wonderful place. We have come to love the Williamsburg area and all it has to offer.

love the family picture you got! Looked like a fun trip. :)
